"Sometimes you have to get off track to find a better track."
-Robin Sharma
Is your life going in a different direction than you had imagined? Are things more challenging than you thought they would be? Are you overwhelmed or unmotivated and too down to find a way to move forward? All of us get off track sometimes, and we could all use help from time to time too.
Over the past 10+ years as a therapist, I've been committed to joining clients in their quest to get to the root of what is causing their problems. Then with the client, we come up with ways to deal with and work on that problem. I truly believe once you know what the pattern is, you can break it or change it. Together, we will figure out what is needed for you to work through your issues, allowing you to get back on track, and move on to a healthier, happier place.
ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
I graduated from George Mason University with a Masters Degree in Community Agency Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
EXPERIENCE
Counseling is a "second career" for me. I worked for almost 20 years in the healthcare field working with seniors in Assisted Living Communities, Adult Day Care Centers, Home Care and Hospice Care. The further up the line I was promoted to corporate positions, the further away it took me from the chance to work one to one with people. So, I returned to school and got my masters in Counseling, so I could get back to what I loved most; working with people on a direct, personal level. My experience as a therapist for approximately 10 years, has been working in community health care settings, supporting clients with mental health and substance abuse diagnosis and trauma in both individual and group settings. In the past few years, I have been working in a group practice seeing individuals struggling depression and anxiety, trauma/PTSD, as well working with couples on relationship issues. I have enjoyed it so much, I decided to take a leap and begin my own practice.
